Myanmar Visa Information

Passport

Visitors must have a valid passport with an EVT (Entry Visa for Tourist) to enter Myanmar. EVT can be obtained at any Myanmar Embassy or Consulate offices with validity for 28 days and extendable if necessary. Application forms in duplicate with three-passport six photos are to be submitted with a fee in their respective currency.

Visa

Tourist Visas and business visas are issued at Myanmar Embassies and consulates worldwide. All foreigners entering Myanmar must have a valid visa issued by the Myanmar Embassies and Consulates abroad. If you want to apply Myanmar Visa,you can apply at Myanmar Embassy with passport, photos, visa fees. Also tourist can apply Myanmar Visa online (E-visa).

NOTICE TO TOURIST VISA APPLICANTS

1. You will need the following before you apply:
   1. Your passport validity must have at least (6) months.
   2. You have to upload one COLOR PHOTO (4.6 cm X 3.8 cm) taking during last (3)months.
   3. Visa, Master, JCB credit cards for the Online Visa payment.

2. A proof of return ticket from Myanmar must be attached to the application.
3. A proof of hotel booking must be attached to the application. Tourists must stay in registered hotels, motels, inns, guest house and resort during your stay in Myanmar.

4. Travelers must have the following documents:
   1. a certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 at least 14 days before arrival to Myanmar, with one of the following vaccines which has been approved by the Ministry of Health (MOH). Vaccine Certificate must be attached to the application. (The name of vaccine, country and date(s) of vaccination must be clearly stated in the certificate, along with the particulars of the travelers according to their passport.)

(Children under 12 years old are exempted from this requirement, if they travel with fully vaccinated parent(s) or guardian(s). The name of vaccine, country and date(s) of vaccination must be clearly stated in English, along with the particulars of the travelers according to their passport.)

1. inbound Travel Accident Insurance Policy with COVID-19 coverage purchased from Myanma Insurance. Insurance Certificate must be attached to the application. (Detailed information can be obtained at the Myanma Insurance’s website www.mminsurance.gov.mm and the insurance can be purchased online at www.mminsurance.gov.mm/inbound-travel-accident-insurance.)

5. Travelers must present a printed copy of each document mentioned in the paragraph 1 to airline staffs upon check-in before boarding the aircraft destined for Myanmar as well as to the respective airport health authorities upon arrival to Myanmar.
6. Travelers must submit a Health Declaration Form to the respective airport health authorities upon arrival to Myanmar. (A legal action will be taken against a traveler, if he or she provides any incorrect information in the Health Declaration Form.)
7. Travelers shall be subject to a thermal screening and necessary health check to be conducted by the respective airport health authorities, upon arrival to Myanmar.
8. Travelers must undergo a COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) at the place designated by the Ministry of Health and airport authorities and must bear the cost of 15,000 MMK.
9. Travelers shall report to the respective health authorities if they have developed signs and symptoms of COVID-19 during their stay in Myanmar. (Contact details of the respective health departments can be obtained from the designated hotels.)
10. Travelers shall be immediately isolated and taken to a hospital or treatment center or hotel designated by the MOH as per health protocols, if they are found to be symptomatic of COVID-19 or they are tested positive for COVID-19 during the RDT test.
11. If the result is negative, travelers are allowed to go about their activities.
12. Travelers must strictly follow the instructions made by the respective health authorities. Any breach will result in legal action in accordance with the existing laws and procedures.
13. The stipulations are subject to change depending on the COVID-19 situation.

1. You will need the following before you apply:
   1. Your passport validity must have at least (6) months.

2. Tourist Visa processing information :
   1. The validity of eVisa approval letter is 90 days from the issued date. If it is expired, entry will be denied.
   2. Length of stay is (28) days from the date of arrival in Myanmar.
   3. eVisa service is non refundable.
   4. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 1 hour after successful payment.
   5. The processing time is minimum 3 working days (Myanmar time) for normal Tourist Visa. In all cases, processing time starts when the application acknowledgement e-mail is sent, after application is submitted and online payment is successful.
3. If the applicant has child(ren) under (7) years old on the same passport, you have to put the name of that child, date of birth in the minor section of the application form.
4. A proof of return ticket from Myanmar must be attached to the application.
5. A proof of hotel booking must be attached to the application. Tourists must stay in registered hotels, motels, inns, guest house and resort during your stay in Myanmar.
6. Only passports will be eligible for e-visa. Travel documents will not be accepted. If your e-visa was obtained with travel documents, you will be denied entry to Myanmar at the immigration check points.
7. There are Restricted Areas for Foreigners and Tourist travelling in the Country. For more information, please visit mip.gov.mm. Information on restricted area, please go to mip.gov.mm/RestricetdArea.
8. eVisa is a only valid for a single entry. Re-entry will require a new visa.

9. Currently, passengers with eVisa are only permitted to enter via following ports:

1. Yangon International Airport
2. Mandalay International Airport

We will announce other port of entry in due course.

Note: With a view to preventing importation and spread of COVID-19, the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has temporarily suspended entry of any foreign nationals through any border check point being opened between Myanmar and its neighboring countries. The entry and exit of local population on both sides of the border through the existing check points concerned will not be restricted. They will be subject to health check and temperature screening at the entry of the border check points. Any foreign national with valid entry visa may enter and exit to/from Myanmar only at Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport in accordance with the existing rules and regulations.

10. If you are visiting Myanmar via cruise, please contact your tour agent for Pre-arrangement Visa on Arrival. You will not be able to use eVisa to enter Myanmar via seaport.
11. Effective from 01 September 2022, ordinary passport holders from the following countries do not require a visa for tourist visits of up to 14 days if entering and departing from Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw International Airports. If you would like to stay in Myanmar over 14 days, please apply for the appropriate e-Visa.
